About Devin Berglund

I'm Devin Berglund — a creative writer who believes stories have the power to connect us across distance, circumstance, and time. Writing has been my compass for as long as I can remember, guiding me through the landscapes of fiction, personal reflection, and the everyday beauty of a well-told tale.

My work spans fiction and non-fiction, with a particular fondness for exploring love, resilience, and the quiet moments that shape who we are. Whether I'm drafting a new short story, working on a novel, or sharing thoughts on the writing life, I aim to create work that feels honest and inviting.

Every writer knows the weight of a story waiting to be told. For me, that weight has always been a companion through late nights of drafting and early mornings of revision. The path to publication is rarely a straight line, and I've learned to embrace the detours as much as the destinations. Each draft peels back another layer of understanding, not just of my characters but of myself. Whether I'm writing fiction that explores the complexities of love or personal essays that capture fleeting moments of clarity, the process remains the same: showing up, word by word, and trusting that the story will find its way.

Relationships shape us in ways we don't always recognize until we look back. The distance between people, whether measured in miles or misunderstandings, has taught me that communication is the thread that keeps us connected. My writing often circles back to this theme, exploring how couples navigate the hard conversations, the quiet compromises, and the unexpected moments of grace. Love is not always easy, but it is always worth documenting. These stories remind me that every relationship, whether with a partner, a friend, or even a reader, requires intentional care and a willingness to listen.

The creative life is built on small, consistent acts of courage. Setting goals, sharing work with others, and staying open to feedback are all part of a journey that never truly ends. I believe that stories have the power to bridge gaps between people, to offer comfort where life feels hard, and to celebrate the beauty of ordinary days. As I continue working toward publication, I carry with me the encouragement of those who have read my words and offered their trust. Writing is not a solitary act in the end; it is a conversation.

My Writing Journey

I've been writing seriously for years — sending manuscripts to agents, publishing short stories, and building a body of work that reflects my growth as a storyteller. Along the way, I've had the privilege of interviewing authors like New York Times best-seller Hugh Howey about his book Wool, and I've shared a short story called Hope For Another Day with my email subscribers.

Every piece I write teaches me something new. I'm drawn to stories about long-distance love, personal transformation, and the intersection of creativity and everyday life.

Philosophy on Life, Love & Creativity

I believe creativity thrives when we nurture the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. That's why my blog touches on health, faith, travel, and DIY projects alongside writing craft. A balanced life fuels better stories.

Long-distance relationships have shaped much of my perspective. They've taught me about patience, communication, and the kind of love that bridges miles. These themes surface often in my fiction and in the articles I share with readers.

Community & Connection

Writers don't have to go it alone. I host the monthly #WritingHarvest Twitter Chat, where writers gather to share encouragement, swap tips, and build real connections. It's one of my favorite parts of the writing life — showing up for each other and growing together.

I also offer writing coaching for those looking for one-on-one support, and I welcome guest post submissions from fellow writers who want to contribute to the conversation.
